University of Oregon Ambassadors
UO Ambassadors tell the story of the university, spread excitement for the institution’s goals and pursuits, and foster commitment to the school, its people, and its brand. University of Oregon Ambassadors continually demonstrate their willingness to commit their time and resources to the advancement and betterment of the University and those it serves. They are highly connected, highly engaged representatives of the UO. They are leaders, innovators, and mentors.
UO Ambassador Membership criteria (must meet at least one)
- Former University of Oregon and Foundation trustees, past university advisory board members, and donors who are currently not serving on a volunteer board and are annual supporters in the Loyalty Circle
- Visionary Circle donor and/or past volunteer leaders
- Nominated by a current UO Ambassador or UO Advancement personnel
UO Ambassador Role
- Help the university through volunteer activity at least twice during the course of the year. Examples include, but are not limited to: recruitment, panelist/speaker, event attendance, mentorship, lobby, career services.
- Attend the annual Ambassadors on Campus event each fall
- Nominate future UO Ambassador members
Yearly Philanthropic Expectation
- Donor in the Loyalty Circle, consecutive annual donation, or the Visionary Circle.
Time Commitment
- 2-3 days per year for Ambassadors on Campus event in Eugene
- Minimum of two volunteer activities per year; time commitment varies based on selected activity
- No term limits. Individuals may remain Ambassadors as long as they continue to meet membership criteria.
