School of Journalism and Communication

At the School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC) in Eugene and Portland, we recognize that while students tell stories addressing real-world issues, they’re also writing their own. That’s why the SOJC offers students flexible programs where they can explore their passions and have hands-on learning experiences through state-of-the-art production spaces, student-run publications, learning trips, internships, and more. At the SOJC, we're changing the media landscape one graduate at a time.

“The UO School of Journalism and Communication trains students for a variety of career paths in the professions we partner with and in many other industry sectors. We encourage students to develop their unique, strong voices based on ethics, professional responsibility, knowledge, and transferable skills. A balance between transformational academic instruction and experiential learning programs nationally and internationally contributes to our talented students’ career readiness in advertising, journalism, media, public relations, and strategic communication.”
