During this online presentation, Dr. Scott Fisher introduces our own Pine Mountain Observatory (PMO) and the student-led research projects that are ongoing at the facility. He discusses the scale of the solar system. This video recording includes a live view of the sun!

Dr. Fisher is a faculty member at the University of Oregon Department of Physics where he teaches introductory-level astronomy courses and serves as director of Undergraduate Studies for the department. He is also the director of Pine Mountain Observatory, which is located about thirty miles east of Bend, OR in an area with some of the darkest skies left in the continental US.

Hendon, also known as “Dr. Coffee,” for a fascinating exploration of the chemistry of coffee and its connection to energy and sustainable materials research at UO. Dr. Coffee held a virtual tasting event and coffee was shipped to Oregon 360 donors homes to be able to enjoy a special blend curated for Oregon 360.
