News from the Director
Spring on campus brings exciting momentum. In this FOCUS issue, our student writers in Advancement—Elise Alvira, class of 2026 (journalism), and Sammy Houston, class of 2027 (business)—have taken the lead on telling stories that highlight the innovative work happening at the Lundquist College of Business and its expanding real estate education offerings.
Through the Oregon Real Estate Investment Group and industry engagement, students are gaining experience that connects classroom learning with hands-on practice.
The Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact also reached a major milestone this spring with the opening of Building 2, a cutting-edge research and training facility designed to foster collaboration and discovery. With expanded laboratories, shared research cores, and flexible spaces, the new building brings scientists, engineers, and students together to accelerate ideas from the lab to real-world impact.
As graduation approaches, these achievements highlight the UO community’s ongoing commitment to learning, research, and opportunity, supported by alumni and friends whose thoughtful planning helps propel the university’s future.
Sincerely,
Sharon Heth
