About the Fund
There is not a corner of the University of Oregon that has not been touched by the generosity of David and Nancy Petrone. They have established several named faculty funds such as the David M. and Nancy L. Petrone Faculty Endowment Fund in 1993 to support a senior faculty member, whose achievements in research and teaching are highly valued at the UO. In 2001, the David and Nancy Petrone Faculty Fellowship was established as the first of its kind for the University of Oregon's School of Journalism and Communication and is awarded annually to a faculty member for research or teaching that advances communication in the public interest. The David and Nancy Petrone Map/GIS Librarian Endowment Fund was established in 2004 to support and sustain the vital research and academic services provided by the University of Oregon library systems. The Nancy and David Petrone Chair in Economics was established in 2018.
