About the Funds
The Ann Swindells Chair in Education was established by The Estate of Ann Swindells and The Ann and Bill Swindells Charitable Trust in 2009. Ann Swindells established this endowment in her will with the intention to serve the University of Oregon and its students by recruiting and/or retaining exemplary faculty in the College of Education. In 2010, the Chair in Architecture and Allied Arts was established in her will with the intention to serve the University of Oregon and its students by recruiting and/or retaining exemplary faculty in the College of Design, formerly known as the School of Architecture and Allied Arts. In the same year, the Ann Swindells Professorship in Counseling Psychology and Human Services Fund was established. Ann Swindells established this endowment in her will with the intention to serve the University of Oregon and its students by recruiting and/or retaining exemplary faculty in the Counseling Psychology and Human Services Department in the College of Education.Ann Swindells graduated from the University of Oregon in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science degree and married Bill that same year. Throughout her life, Ann remained deeply involved with the University, dedicating herself to enhancing the resources and opportunities available to its students and faculty.
