Student Success

Student success is at the heart of everything that we do. UO is committed to helping all students achieve better and more equitable outcomes, to succeed in college and to prepare for the professional world.

Children's Behavioral Health

The Ballmer Institute for Children’s Behavioral Health at the University of Oregon is the most comprehensive effort ever undertaken by a university and its partners to answer the growing crisis in children’s behavioral health and well-being.

Accelerating Science

The Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact is a bold new model that accelerates the cycle of scientific discovery and development through world-class research, training, and entrepreneurship in an open and collaborative cross-disciplinary environment.

Data Science

UO researchers are using the insights and techniques of data science to make groundbreaking discoveries across a wide range of academic disciplines, from biology and geography to linguistics and marketing. Big data informs critical decisions in areas like cancer research, where “smarter and faster” can mean the difference between life and death. 

 

Sport and Wellness

We believe in leveraging sport research to help people enjoy not just longer, but healthier lives. UO researchers are working to improve health and performance for athletes—and everyone. They’re helping prevent injuries and accelerate recovery. And they’re searching for new strategies to promote healthy lifestyles. 

Environment

The Environment Initiative focuses on policy-relevant, applied, and translational work. Our students and faculty are helping initiate meaningful, scalable change. Reaching beyond academia, they will collaborate with many different constituencies. Ultimately, this evidence-based work will be relevant to decision makers in government, industry, and other areas.

Innovation

Powering the pursuit of new ideas, the UO has a rich legacy of innovation and discovery. Across campus, scientists, makers, and entrepreneurs are creating solutions and products to support small business, industry, and our economy.  

Equity and Diversity

The work to create a more inclusive and equitable world starts internally—with each of us. As a university and across our schools, colleges and divisions, we are striving to create an environment in which everyone feels welcome, respected, valued, and able to thrive and succeed.      

Global Studies and Languages

From ecological sustainability and food security to public health, conflict resolution, and Indigenous cultural survival — many of the greatest challenges confronting our world recognize no borders. We are preparing tomorrow’s problem solvers, global partners, and peace builders.
