Welcome to University Advancement

Advancement professionals and programs at the University of Oregon are transforming the institution. Each alumnus engaged, volunteer recruited, and dollar raised are a result of the commitment, creativity, and collaboration of our team.

We are looking for outstanding development professionals to continue to grow the leadership and capacity of our team. At the University of Oregon we believe that best practices in fundraising are a result of our core values:

  • Collaboration: fostering connection and leveraging the strengths of each team member
  • Professionalism: aligning good business practice with clear development strategy
  • Inspiration: celebrating the positive impact of our hard work and foot print of our institution
  • Opportunity: realizing the maximum potential of our programs and our individuals

What are we working on in University Advancement?

We are working on our internship program, new partnerships with academic leadership, and new opportunities in diversity.

Laying Out the Foundation of our Internship Program
University Advancement leads industry best practices with our donor-supported Advancement Leadership Internship (ALI) program. This rotational internship program recruits exceptional undergraduate and graduate students and provides them with a unique professional and learning experience.

Our interns are prepared to join the next generation of advancement and fundraising leadership for non-profit organizations. These students have the opportunity to lead important projects within 3-5 units across University Advancement, participate in classroom-style learning sessions led by UO’s leaders and donors, and receive career coaching and guidance to find the right job after graduation.
Pioneering New Opportunities in Diversity
University Advancement is proud to participate in cross-industry diversity pipeline initiative. We are actively working with other institutions to develop a career pipeline for underrepresented and non-traditional professionals to join our field and find success at their respective organizations. Our goal is to enhance the recruitment, growth, and working experience of current and aspiring diverse advancement professionals.

Oregon is committed to redefining our efforts and shaping best practices in recruitment, retention, and empowerment of employees of underrepresented perspectives, backgrounds, cultures, abilities, and identities.
Forging New Partnerships with Academic Leadership
The University of Oregon is on the cusp of a new transformation, led by strong central leadership and a cohort of passionate, visionary deans. University Advancement partners with our academic leaders, leveraging their vision to foster collaboration across units and build transformational appeals for UO donors and alumni.
