1986: Len Casanova

Len Casanova is the longest-tenured football coach in Oregon history, holding the title from 1951 to 1966. He holds the record for most games coached and led the Ducks to three post-season appearances, including the 1958 Rose Bowl. After retiring from coaching, Casanova served as Oregon’s athletic director and was later inducted into the UO Sports Hall of Fame. The UO athletic center was named the Len Casanova Center in honor of his forty-year contribution to Oregon Athletics.
