UO Libraries

Every day, thousands of students and faculty members pass through the doors of our libraries. Each year, classrooms and group-study rooms are booked to capacity, and 16,000 students participate in the library’s instructional programs. The library is also the largest academic employer of students on campus, providing job experience and wages to offset the cost of tuition for hundreds of Ducks each term. As the only member of the prestigious Association of Research Libraries in the state, the library is vital to research activity on campus and throughout the Pacific Northwest, and preserves and makes accessible distinctive collections of national and global historical significance.

Gifts to the UO Libraries touch each and every student at the University of Oregon and support the libraries’ efforts to make resources available to researchers throughout the state and the world. From the Rippey Library at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology Library to the Knight Library at the heart of campus, each of the seven libraries serves our students, faculty, and the community at large.
