The Advancement Leadership Internship (ALI) prepares aspiring fundraising professionals for future opportunities. Through a unique rotational approach, interns gain a deeper understanding of fundraising, University of Oregon Advancement, and the many ways the University of Oregon engages its donors in support of its overall mission.

This is a paid internship based on a 12 hour per week flexible work schedule. Interns are eligible for course credit through UO’s PPPM program as well as potential course credit depending on degree and advisor.

Who we are looking for

Stellar students interested in making the University of Oregon and the world better places, who are passionate about the UO, and willing to commit a full academic year rotating among our excellent teams.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, junior and senior undergraduates and graduate students interested in any of the following career directions:

  • Forward-facing relationships in fundraising, alumni relations, stewardship, or communications
  • Data science, operations work flows, organizational analysis, or strategy
  • Non-profit development and fundraising  

Minimum Student Requirements

We are looking for 7 undergraduate and graduate students who:

  • Are working towards their bachelors or masters degree (open to all majors)
  • Are interested in making an impact at the University of Oregon and are passionate about the UO
  • Are interested in gaining non-profit and management experience
  • Are eager to learn and ask questions
  • Have a positive and can-do attitude
  • Are community-minded
  • Are dependable and responsible
  • Can manage their time efficiently

Minimum requirements:

Students must maintain enrollment for three of the four academic terms. To be eligible, undergraduate students must be enrolled for at least 8 credit hours per term, and graduate students must be enrolled for at least 5 credit hours per term.

The application timeline for the 2024-2025 academic year will be announced soon. We are looking to fill 7 intern spots for the 2024-2025 academic year. Applications will be reviewed as they are received until all internship spots are filled.
