Almost all successful people remember a teacher or coach or mentor who influenced them in a profound way. University of Oregon alumni are no exception.

Our faculty members are devoted to teaching undergraduate courses, engaging students in their research, and inspiring students to think critically.

The University of Oregon faculty does a lot with a little. Although faculty salaries here are only about 80 percent of those at our peer schools and our state spending per student is at the bottom of both the Association of American Universities and the Pac-10 rankings, our academic quality consistently ranges in the top third of U.S. doctoral institutions.

Endowed chairs and professorships make a huge difference in recruiting and retaining exceptional faculty members. In this campaign, we must double our endowed chairs and professorships to 150.
