Giving Opportunities

Integrative Science Building
This major facility will be the nexus for interdisciplinary research at the UO and will house the groups that comprise the BBMI.

Mammalian Genetics Facility
This new facility will accelerate the studies of mouse genetics and lead to new discoveries in human brain function and behavior.

Center for Genomics and Proteomics
Keeping the UO on the cutting edge of bioscience research, this center will bridge the UO’s strength in brain imaging with our expertise in the genetics of model organisms, a cornerstone of the BBMI.

Synergy happens when different parts come together to achieve more than the whole — in ways each part could not achieve alone.
The UO is a pioneer in bringing this synergy to the sciences. We established the first interdisciplinary center in 1959: the Institute of Molecular Biology. In 1989, we were recognized as one of eight centers in the world with a vibrant cognitive neuroscience program. Today, that program is stronger than ever and has established connections with molecular biology to add the genetic perspective to studies of the human brain.
