Building a Future
The Lawyer
Law student Jeff Sagalewicz is facing a probable $25,000 worth of debt when he graduates from the UO law school. But the debt would be twice as much if he hadn’t received considerable help from scholarships, including the Nelson H. and Kathleen D. Grubbe Scholarship in his second year. “I am extremely grateful for the Grubbes’ contribution,” says Jeff. “It covers almost 10 percent of my costs for three years in law school.” By reducing his debt, scholarships give Jeff a broader choice of legal careers: he could pursue a low-salary career for a nonprofit or government agency or seek a high-paying position in a large corporate law firm. |
