Embracing Innovation, Preserving Our Heritage

Private giving has enabled the UO Libraries to achieve many goals, and Campaign Oregon will help us realize our vision of embracing the technological innovations of today while preserving the rich heritage of our region.

With donor support, we can become a recognized leader in collaborative efforts and resource-sharing among libraries. We can develop new methods for disseminating and preserving scholarship, provide valuable new research opportunities for undergraduates, and cultivate the library as an intellectual sanctuary where students are inspired to discover, learn, and grow.

Specifically, private gifts will be used to develop collections in growing areas of the curriculum, such as environmental studies and world religions. They will establish an endowment to preserve unique and fragile resources that document the history of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. They will support our expanding program to digitize important resources and make them accessible via the Internet.

Gifts will also allow us to create new classrooms designed to take advantage of the most effective educational technologies, and they will create scholarships for undergraduates engaged in extensive library research.

Your support will help make our vision a reality and will have a positive impact on the entire campus.
