Gift Opportunities
Graduate Student
Research and Travel
Graduate students need to get away from their desks to truly immerse themselves in research. Special awards enable students to travel to professional conferences, view original manuscripts or collections, gather extensive data, and produce extraordinary results that enhance their educational experiences and boost the UO’s national reputation and rankings.
Endowed Chair in
Asian Media Studies
A specialist in Asian media studies would expand the boundaries of knowledge about how popular media influence cultural values in Asian countries and would strengthen the UO’s already distinguished programs in comparative literature and East Asian languages and literatures.
Center for Ethics and
Community Philosophy
Oregon, like every other state, is grappling with difficult social and ethical issues such as allocation of scarce health care resources, protecting the environment in a difficult business climate, and operating successful public-private partnerships. The Department of Philosophy can help—by bringing together specialists and citizens to explore issues and solve problems through a new Center for Ethics and Community Philosophy.
