CORPORATIONS BUILD STRONG WORKFORCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON
Last year, fourteen corporate partner companies participated in UO student career services events. Ten hired UO student interns. Five gave facilities and plant tours to our students. And they got the results they were looking for…in spades!
One Operations Management student, after going on a couple of JELD-WEN plant tours, decided that a position at JELD-WEN would be his dream job. He recently took a job at JELD-WEN's facility in Southern California.
Oregon Community Credit Union was named the UO’s Recruiter of the Year for 2006. And it’s no wonder: sixty percent of the company’s hires came from the University of Oregon last year.
Of the forty summer interns the Regence Group hired last year, seven were from the University of Oregon – the largest group from one college or university. Our interns brought a wealth of knowledge to Regence from different departments including the Lundquist College of Business, School of Journalism and Communication, and Computer and Information Science.
