Letter from Dave Frohnmayer
Transforming lives through inspiration, discovery, opportunity, and connection. That is the
mission of the University of Oregon. And in order to support those students who have set their
goals on leadership roles in business, we intend to transform significantly business education.
To accomplish this the Lundquist College of Business must raise substantial resources
beyond those available from the state. Private gifts have made the college what it is today. They
built the Lillis Business Complex. They created the Warsaw Sports Marketing Center and the
Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship. They enable us to attract top faculty and students. Like every other major public business school in the nation, the Lundquist College needs
the support of its alumni and friends. The cost of educating our students in the manner they
deserve exceeds the state’s ability to pay. Your help guarantees that we can provide our students
with the leadership skills they need to succeed and help others succeed. It enables us to
provide this education to both those who choose business as a career and those who go into the
sciences, the arts, or the host of other professions that benefit from a sound understanding of
the way commerce works.
The Lundquist College’s $80 million campaign goal is very ambitious. It is twice as large
as the one that funded the Lillis Business Complex. It will mark a dramatic turning point for the
college through transforming teaching, research and outreach as well as adding significantly to
the scholarships available. It will fuel the future.
I hope you share my excitement for the Lundquist College of Business. Please join with us
to make our dream a reality—for our students, for the school, and for everyone who benefits
from strong, principled business leadership.
