Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art
Capital support
- The newly remodeled museum opened in 2005 at nearly twice its former size, providing more gallery space, better facilities for education outreach programs, a café, a larger museum store, and special-event spaces. The $12.2 million project more than doubled the museum’s square footage, adding gallery space and other facilities that allow more diverse visiting exhibits, better display of the museum’s collections, and more educational opportunities for UO students, Oregon schoolchildren, and the public.
- Purchased compact storage units for decorative works and art racks for storage of paintings.
Student support
- Annual paid internships to provide students the opportunity to gain experience working with the museum’s curators, education director, and registrar.
Program support
- Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art Operating Endowment Fund
- Farwest Steel Korean Art Endowment Fund
- Coeta and Donald Barker Foundation Changing Exhibitions Endowment Fund
Collections support
- Strengthened museum collections across all represented areas including contemporary American and Northwest works, photography, and traditional and contemporary Asian works.
