Intercollegiate Athletics

Capital support
  • A $90 million expansion of Autzen Stadium, completed in 2003, increased capacity from 41,700 to 54,000. The stadium project addressed the need to expand seating capacity for increased revenue and to improve circulation, accessibility, restrooms, concessions, and press facilities. The project, completed in 2003 was funded mostly with private gifts.
  • Completion of renovated locker room and new athletic training facility in Casanova Center.
  • Completion of renovated Hayward Field for the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Trials.
  • Start of construction on PK Park baseball stadium.
  • Start of construction on student-athlete academic study center.
  • $120 million raised so far toward goal of $150 million for Athletics Legacy Fund to maintain self-sufficiency of athletic department and enable construction of a new basketball arena.
