• The master of architecture degree program is ranked fifteenth in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. The undergraduate program offers a five-year professional bachelor’s degree.

• The interior architecture program consistently ranks in the nation’s top ten among accredited programs.

• We offer Oregon’s only accredited professional degree programs in architecture, landscape architecture, and interior architecture.

• The master of fine arts degree program is the only one of its kind in the state. The programs in art history and arts and administration are unique in the state.

• The historic preservation program is one of two such programs in the western United States.

• Planning, public policy and management faculty members are ranked third in the nation for the impact that their scholarly publications have on other researchers.

Architecture student Sara Goenner examines the interaction of light and architecture using a building model. In the UO BetterBricks Daylighting Lab, students can explore light and shade with instruments designed to simulate sunlight on any day of the year. Architecture faculty members excel in the study of daylighting and energy use in buildings. For example, G.Z. “Charlie” Brown, professor of architecture since 1977, has attracted more than $14 million in support for daylighting research and sustainable building design studies.
