donor recognition
Donors who give at certain levels are recognized through special programs. To find out more about our donor recognition programs, contact Donor Relations: (541) 346-2113.

President’s Associates

President’s Associates are annual donors whose gifts during a 12-month period reach $2500 or more. During each year of giving at this level, President’s Associates are invited to functions hosted by the UO President, receive additional communication about the UO, and are included in the Honor Roll of Donors.

Founders Societies

The Founders Societies program recognizes donors whose cumulative giving has reached $50,000 or more. Members of the Founders Societies are invited to functions hosted by the UO President, receive additional communication about the UO, are included in the Honor Roll of Donors, and receive special recognition.

The Founders Societies are named for the university’s founders and early benefactors:

Matthew P. Deady (cumulative gifts of $50,000-99,999), president of the state board of regents from 1873-1893 who advocated for the founding of a state university.

Irene Gerlinger (cumulative gifts of $100,000-249,999), the only female member of the board of regents and a pioneering fundraiser.

Henry Villard (cumulative gifts of $250,000-499,999), a wealthy railroad magnate who was the university’s first benefactor

John Wesley Johnson
(cumulative gifts of $500,000-999,999), the university’s first president.

Prince Lucien Campbell (cumulative gifts of $1 million+), president from 1902-1925 who transformed the university from a relatively provincial institution into a modern university.

Arnold Bennett Hall Society

The Arnold Bennett Hall Society recognizes donors who have made gifts to the university through a planned giving vehicle, such as a trust or estate. Mr. Hall, the university’s fifth president, advocated for growing the university’s endowment through planned gifts.
