School of Law

The University of Oregon School of Law (Oregon Law) is the state of Oregon's only public law school and has served Oregonians, the nation, and the world through a constantly renewed commitment to excellence in legal education since 1884.

Our juris doctor and master’s students alike learn from renowned faculty. Together, they explore theory, analysis, and practical skills training. We have educated leaders in law, government, business, and society since our inception.

Oregon Law is a top law school in the Northwest, accredited by the American Bar Association, and one of only 13 law schools nationwide with three or more top-ranked programs according to U.S. News. These include: legal research and writing, environmental and natural resources law, and appropriate dispute resolution. In addition to JD and LLM degrees, we offer a master's degree in conflict and dispute resolution along with several concurrent degrees in fields such as business, environmental studies, international studies, public administration, and journalism.

New initiatives include an undergraduate legal studies program and our Summer Sports Law institute. Also new is Oregon Law's downtown Portland campus, where law students can choose to spend their third year studying and networking.

Oregon Law has earned high honors from The National Jurist for both its public interest programs and its practical skills training. Study.com recently ranked our family law program as one of the best in the nation.
