Zachary Taylor

Major: Planning, public policy and management

Hometown: Cottage Grove, Oregon

Plans after graduation: “I plan on having many careers—fundraiser, entrepreneur, traveler, lifelong learner, and teacher.”
Impact of PathwayOregon: “It removes the stress for students like me who have been worried pretty much their whole lives about paying for college. It gives us a chance to make something of ourselves that we might not have had otherwise.”

College job: Taylor started working as a student caller with the UO’s Annual Giving Program the summer before he started his freshman year. “I enjoyed the relationships I was able to establish with alumni because they showed interest in my development as a student. And I showed interest in the advice that they could give me, and their experiences that they had here at the UO. I really enjoyed that aspect of it and that’s why I’m interested in fundraising as a career.”

Leaving the UO: “It’s scary and exciting at the same time. College is a little bit of a bubble and it’s separated from the real world. But I’m excited to go into it, because I have a lot to do.”
